Aymen is a certified and licensed pediatric occupational therapist for over five years. She has worked in the school system, private practice, hospital and through the Early Intervention program. Aymen completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She then obtained her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Baker College Center of Graduate Studies in Flint,Michigan. She currently resides in Chicago with her husband and two children.
Aymen’s work experience has focused on helping children and their families with sensory processing challenges. Her approach to therapy is greatly influenced through the DIRFloortime model which promotes an individual’s development through meaningful play and human connection. In addition to DIRFloortime certification, Aymen uses sensory integrative techniques to work towards her client’s goals. She actively uses other programs including Zones of Regulation, Quickshifts, Handwriting Without Tears, Superflex Curriculum and Social Thinking.
Aymen has vast experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and developmental delays. She works closely with family members to develop treatment strategies to help make their children succeed in their home, school and community.
In her spare time, Aymen enjoys spending time with her family, reading and staying active.
